In Egyptian mythology, Set is the god of chaos and change and storms. He really isn't the god of evil: ancient Egyptians didn't like change anymore than most people like it today, and Set represented any disruption of the status quo. My Set is a more modern representation, with his long robe and casually crossed legs, and he considers an Earth on the cusp of great change. Incidentally, Egyptologists have no idea what sort of animal is associated with Set.
