Thank you for your permission to list you as a friend. I checked your work in progress portrait. Much better. If it is chaos you are still painting in the background, that is better also. My suggestion is to subdue that a bit as it detracts from the portrait. I think you would have a much finer portrait if you were actually the dominate visual element. Other than that, it looks like it is coming along well.

Not talking about the real thing Nigel. I agree with you about getting a photograph. If we go down that alley we all could just hang up our brushes and forget about creating beauty and evoking passion. I will check the WIP forum. Also, with your permission, may I list you as a friend on my profile page? I rather enjoy your direct comments and how we approach things in different directions. And of course I always learn something from each engagement and observations of other's work.

Thanks for you comments Carl. I am presently working on a more 'realistic' version of my visage. Please check in WIP forum. Thanks.

This artwork is an abstract attempt at catching myself at that particular time. The background represents the chaos of life that can go on around us. I think it is a good likeness of me. Besides if you want the real thing then get a photograph!

God bless.

Nigel. Bluntly, I do not like this. It is one thing to experiment. It is quite another to present yourself to the world using your left foot. I have seen your work and I know you are much better than this. When you do your self portrait I suggest that you present your best rendition of you. People really want to see three things in a self portrait. One, is it really you. Two, a personality that shows you care. Three, you are skillful. Please check my comments against other opinions.
