Acrylic Painting (Airplane)

Hey Everybody!

Just finished this one, I don't know much about planes so I can't tell you anything about it. My
other asked me if I could paint him an older plane for him so I decided I would give it to him for Christmas!

Anyways just looking for some feedback on what everyone thinks, let me know!

Great image. The clouds look as though you could just fall deep into them. The only thing I may add is a bit more detail in the body of the plane. It gets a bit fuzzy, and my eye is drawn into those areas. Great work.

Nice work, I could never get acrylic looking that good, lol. If you need a good reference book check out the encyclopedia of aircraft of ww2. its a cheapo bargain book, but a good 1. You may want to extend the right wing (if looking at the pic) just a tiny bit, and maybe adding some armements, such as a machine gun in the nose. In any case I'm sure your
o will love it. The plane looks to be a
itish spitfire, which has at least 20 different production variants, so if you wanted to add more detail you should have lots of options.

This is really cool!! When my eyes first hit the picture I felt like I was right up there in the sky. It has a great feel to it. I agree about the right wing looking like it should be longer. What a great Christmas girt.

Thanks for the awesome comments! I agree with you that the wing should be a little longer. It is a spitfire actually, I remembered what the name was after you said it. Again not sure on the specifics but thanks for your great suggestions! I'm so excited to give it to him...I hope he likes it!

Nice painting for the most part Nikki. However, the fellas are right about the wing and the details of the aircraft itself. You might go to a hobby shop and take a gander at the box art for various airplane models including Spitfire's.

It's an excellent job, IMO. It that a P51 Mustang? My father flew those in WWII.
