I had this in the Gentle forums, thought I would see how it goes over with the tougher critics...

Effective composition. The rays emanating from the top right are very effective. Although the color pallette is essentially monochromatic, the colors partner with the composition to create an evocative image that makes one feel either the ecstasy of creation or the dysphoria of destruction. Is that sunshine on a summer morning or a comet about to destroy the city?
The forms are well done in a vaguely germanic impressionism.
Overall it is a very well executed work. It could well be considered gallery level material.

sure what to expect but ur kind words are just
what I needed to hear...starting to doubt myself
I will press on and continue to listen to my inner
muse...and ignore the voices of doubt that drip like
a leaky faucet...again thanks..and if there is ever

Your work is wonderful! We all go through self doubt, just don't let it cripple your reaching for the next rung on your artistic journey.
I've been through, and still do, doubt myself and whatever abilities I hope I have...but then...I create something that invokes a reaction from the viewer, touches them in some way...nothing better than that! And I get busy reaching higher.
Your painting is alive with color, but so much more. It is inspiring, as I read it as the rays of light being life, the patterns being the "bumps" in the road. The castle representing, the ever sought sanctity of peace and safety.
