watercolour - this is just my fy first pass but I have been told it's finished - I think it still needs more work to bring out the eyes or something

Jenny, Your portrait is charming. Lucy Boo looks like a sweetheart. Possibly a colored background would be an enhancement, maybe a red to echo the color in Lucy's kerchief. maybe just a couple more bolder black areas through the hair for some more depth - I know it is always hard to know when to stop, otherwise I like this drawing

Is this drawn from life? Sometimes it really helps to close one eye to help get proportions correct, next time you have a still life set up try looking with one eye closed and then swap closed eyes - notice the difference - when we look with both eyes it can get very confusing to represent your stil...
