I curved it to make it a bit more surreal and confusing. I also read a comment on someone else's painting that nature and life tend to have curved lines while objects tend to be linear. I wanted this to appear a little alive and seething,and to make the viewer apprenhensive yet compelled.

This is called Book of the Dead, and is my 1st go at abstract art. My intention was to create a spooky and disturbing image that appears to be bound flesh. It is oil on canvas, 11x14 each. I would be grateful for any input or critique. Thanks for taking a look.

I dig your perspectives in your paintings. This one is a bit held back by the colors you used. Its difficult for the eye to distinguish the chair from the floor, and the walls blend together a bit much. Change up your colors and you will be golden.

Looks like it wants to pop out of the canvas, especially the large )( shaped orange and blue areas . Wonder how much it would pop if the smaller intersecting lines where left to the background and the orange and blue )( where more solid and not
oken up by the intersecting lines. Very cool pic!
