She is an awesome photographer, she will take photos of children and weddings and I will be offering doing pastel headshots of her photos for a fee . She is a stunning woman I began with her ey...

Re: Water

Thank you Carl, I never thought in terms of water run-offs taking up the colors of the surrounding areas. That is a very valuable tip, Thank you!

Water

Hello everyone! I have a question, I am trying to paint realistic water on dry medium paper with pastel and colored pencils. I am having a difficult time making it look transparent. Plus the water is coming out of a city fire hydrant so we are not talking about clear blue water. Any suggestions woul...

Re: 'Playing Hopscotch '

Hello Carl!, thank you for the input but I decided not to drive myself crazy so I changed the entire position of the arm.
the color on the other hand is driving me crazy so I will go back to it. :)

Re: 'St. Joe's, Play Ball ' !

Hello E. I have tried to make some corrections, wrapping the fingers around the bat. But the ref. photo clearly shows her other hand not holding the bat correctly. I added more brown to the mitt and worked his hand a bit. I think I will be better served if I do pieces that do not have hands because ...

'St. Joe's, Play Ball ' !

I did this piece in honor of one of the nun's that taught me in St. Joseph's School in Hoboken, NJ.
Sister Jamesanne. She has left the order quite some time ago, but this is one woman who definitely
helped me become the woman that I am today.

Re: How do you put life into a "Still Life"?

First off, I hope that your blushing bride is feeling much better. Second, please tell me how you created the grid? While I like both still life drawings I am more drawn ( no pun intended ) to the second one it is more delicate , the first is a bit busy for my taste. E. is correct in that the second...

Re: 'Playing Marbles'

This is the completed piece. I am happy with it, I have been trying to work with pastel paper for sometime now, but I find that pastel pencils are a lot easier to work with than sticks on paper. I have been working with a group of artist that only work with pencils, so they have been very helpful. I...
