  • About Me: I didn't attend to any kind of art school or course, because I was discouraged by my arts teacher in primary school. I've learned everything on my own by infrequent practice, but recently I've had more time for my hobbies. I draw mostly portraits in pencil. I like fine details of the face, especially wrinkles. For me hair is the most difficult thing, so I prefer drawing bald heads.

Hi there Pszczoua, lovely to hear from you again. Thank you very much for your kind comments, I very much appreciate it. How are you going with your coloured pencils. Have you completed the Parrot?

Hi Glenda! I asked my husband to buy me a pitt pastel. Meanwhile I've just finished a portrait of Tom Selleck (will publish it soon - it's my best drawing so far) and decided to try my skills in coloured pencils, drawing a parrot.
Have you ever tried dry brush technique? I got a set of brush and paint for my birthday and I'm feeling quite anxious to try it as I'm not sure I will like the effect...

Hi there Pszczoua, Lovely to hear from you and thank you for your kind comments. The white pencil I use is frequently called "white charcoal", but it is not charcoal it is white pitt pastel.
I use Canson Mi Teintes paper, grey in colour. For the very white parts of my drawing I use only the white pencil, but if I need to I will use the white pencil over the top of charcoal, when doing hair to get lighter shades of grey. Hope this is helpful, feel free to ask me questions any time. Keep up your good work, you will get better and better and you practice. Regards Glenda
