Memento Mori

by Slavsky-Fine-Art
'Memento Mori' [latin for "Remember we have to die"] was made to reflect on mortality. Death is a part of life and at one point or another it will creep our lives and instead of being fear it needs to be embraced. Life needs to be lived to its fullest so we have the peace of mind that even if our time has come to an end we lived doing what we loved without regret. Everything will end at some point, might as well enjoy the ride.

This is an odd question but is there a reason why you didn't put a face/hair on the woman being carried? I also like how you painted the waves I haven't seen them painted that way before

This is such a remarkable art piece. Your description really took the painting to another level. You usually never see a halo around a Grim Reaper but based on your description it makes sense since in your interpretation Death (The Grim Reaper) shouldn't be seen as something negative or bad but be embraced and celebrated. Not only did you create a phenomenal painting but you created a philosophical message behind it which makes the painting so much more meaningful and powerful.

Bravo Sir!
