This was one of my first Stone Sculptures. This Mare was absolutely in the Stone & demanded to be let out!

When I started this piece, the Mare was very obvious to me & the raspberry color made me think of a raspberry Roan! This side was nearly finished before I figured out what the other side was! I thought perhaps it had a Warrior with His hand under her chin - which is the withers of the foal in this view. I finally saw the Foal & interestingly enough, when this piece is viewed from the front, the Warrior is formed by the eye of the Mare/the face / with her ear forming a feather in his hair!
