Show your Art Work

Postby Global Vernissage » Wed Apr 03, 2013 6:16 am

Even the most successful artists have limits when it comes to reaching a wide audience through gallery shows. Galleries exist as little worlds of their own which attract a certain type of people, typically those who are educated in the arts or of a higher social class. While gallery exhibitions are important for building up a reputation and making sales, relying solely on gallery shows can be very limiting to emerging artists. Too often, artists leave their works in storage where no one can see them while they apply for another show or deal with another rejection letter.

In the past decade, emerging Read more on :::: http://www.globalvernissage.com/Global/ ... ition.html

Good points all - People now like to cruise the Net
looking for what's out there - so easy to find great stuff
and make transactions.
Galleries are a fun venue though and I always like the
different types that promote their favorite 'Looks'.
And there's no denying that having a lil' party (wine, hors
d'ouvres and music) while looking at cool art can't be beat
if you don't mind the overhead one has to pay...Thanks, E

Well after 25 years in art promoting I do know the scenery a bit. At least artists I look after expect me to sell they art. But it is more and more common to go to exhibition's just for fun have drink and exchange business cards and show others how smart you are. I don't mean surfing the net... that's not the point... No real art collector will buy and pay with PayPal. We install Art Screens in High Class 4/5 star hotels and show international artists. That's another cup of tee but a cup of tee with lots of visitors weekly no gallery can have.

Oh, Ho! Very nice. The actual possibility of Sales!?
We do have artists in this forum who are so gifted.
Please check our contest winners and runners-up. Also, if you have time, just
browse through the personal galleries and you will see a lot of work that is still quite good.
Thank You, E
