Hmmm, seems a bit of a chinchy reward for
an artist who will be designing for an ostensibly successful
T-shirt line. Not only that, the designs sent in but not awarded,
will be used, anyway.
Listen, I know times are tough and Rtists should 'take what we get'
but my gut feeling on this is, Beware.
This is a corporate come-on mentality couched in the fun and wacky
friendliness of a Facebook page and it kind of p-sses me off.
This 'company' should pony up and hire a T-shirt designer.
Please stop taking advantage of struggling artists! :x
To the artist - don't 'give' your designs away. Start your own T-shirt
company - even with overhead, you'll make more on your own!
Thanks, Ehoeveler

It says only the grand prize design will be used. This isn't a corporate anything, just a start up company looking to connect with artists who want to see their work on a Tshirt and get a bit of cash for it. If I had more money to offer I would but I am just starting out and have to pay for screens, tshirts, and then figure out how to market a tshirt line.

Its about creativity and spreading sacred geometry around the world. Not about money. If you are in art for the money, then its probably the wrong business for you.

So, you basically want people to help start up your company for free?
You should at least offer stock options, know what I mean?
And I'm seriously laughing at your attitude about artists who should not create
if they want to earn a living at what they do. This is an old, hackneyed adage
that perpetuates the plight of a struggling artist.
Why don't you take that ' sacred geometric' vibe and square out some equitable dollars?

The cash prizes total $150 and the cost for to print a four color design on 12 tshirts is a couple hundred dollars at least if you factor in screen costs, paying an artist to make it screen ready, etc. If that's not worth it to you then don't enter. When the company gets going and making a profit we will be able to afford to offer bigger prizes, but you have to start somewhere and at the moment this is what I can offer :)

Its really exciting to see what people are submitting!

Ok, but if the awarded design takes off, your company makes
thousands of dollars on one design but my artist make $150 and he/she
doesn't even completely get paid up front.
Also in most cases, people want cash. Any designer can now take their own
copyrighted image to your local print shop and have it printed on a T-shirt.
In these troubled times, cash is the name of the game. Don't waste your money
printing out T-shirt prizes - let the money go to the design winner.
Thanks, E.

It's interesting to hear from both sides, the business owner and the artist. I know starting out without a ton of capital can be tough. Best of luck. Just don't forget that if you do make it, to take care of the people who took care of you.

all the best,
Joe

Thanks for the feedback guys :) We are happy with what we can offer and excited to see the designs that do get submitted. We've already gotten a few print worth designs to choose from so we are off to a good start regardless of what the prizes are!

Our real hope is that the theme and message behind I AM. inspires people more than the cash prizes. The more we work with sacred geometry the greater our vibrations will be on Earth and in Space!

Never let it be said that I don't wish
a Start-up the best of success.
Good Luck and as Jenn would say, "Blessings be".
