What does this tree mean?

This is a forum where you can post your art work and ask what the world thinks. I am looking for general feedback, nothing too technical. A push in the right direction would be appreciated.

What does this tree mean?

Postby tropy » Mon Dec 07, 2015 4:53 pm

So someone gave me this art work for my birthday but I do not understand it.
I have not concept on how to read or describe art work.
Can you help me understand this?

She left me a note in the lines of "age is just a number & with every addition comes wisdom and wellbeing. stand tall wise man!"

i think the tree is the symbol for growing and gaining wisdom. the older it gets the more seasons it passes through the stronger it gets.

It looks like a Celtic "Tree Of Life".

A tree is a symbol of antiquity ... Immense and enduring strength. General meanings can be interpreted as a sign of protection... and wildly symbolized as the Tree of Life, where branches reach to the heavans and Roots into the earth, grounding it, in its ever soaring quest for growth and height. It is a sybol of nurturing energies, in cases where its depicted bearing fruit or flower. other meanings can be, strength to overcome strife or illness, a lush tree - ambitions fulfilled. family. Blessings of nature, good fortune, shelter/security and stability. Ancient Celts put many a thought into the symbology of trees, and many are defined not just in the general sense, but in the individual tree types as well. Hope that helps.
