i don't understand this one. it's very dramatic but the fruit is in strange places. what medium do you use?

Thanks, Carmelo! This one doesn´t have a realistic background like those before but I find it interesting because it looks quite dramatic.Maybe I shouldn´t have done that?

I love how you left reality and went for something so dramatic!
By all means- DO MORE LIKE THIS!! Anybody can do still life piles of apples- THIS IS ART>

With the apples in the glass- They seem almost too out of focus... I wish they were a little more crisp - same with this new one- I'd like to see a stronger edge on the apples. Make them POP off the canvas. Particularly the top apple. Realistic clarity in color and shape including -up into the stem area of the top apple... would add greatly to this particular painting. Use depth of color to create even more perspective shaping on the apples (darken the red on the edges)- See if you can make them look so real you want to eat one....

Would like the flowers in the vase to have the same
ight dark pink as the one in front- if not darker- Whats behind your focal point- the single flower- should not be lighter than the front object- It should almost look like the front object has a spot light on it compared to whats behind- your featuring a single flower closer to show the detail...in a better light. Behind should be darker rather than faded.

Your other work is so beautiful - what possessed you to make that yellow white and blue abstract one? It makes no use of your talent. I honestly don't like it at all- not when I know what you can paint like. This style isn't you. I do love the dramatic red and black apple abstract.... that style does work for you.

Sara, I do like your abstract a lot. Although it's made up of cool colours for the most part, it has a lot of positive energy about it. My right side could be a bit better balanced, but I love what you did on top with the yellows! Go ahead and experiment more with abstracts in my opinion.

I like the new work better... its great to do apples, but they need to be presented in a unique way. The first apple image was a bit cliche (check out Cezanne's work, "Apples and Oranges"). The new apple work seems more fresh, imaginative, and better use of overall structure, not just attention to the apples, but the negative space as well. Much better. I'm a stickler for use of negative space.

Hope I wasn't to harsh. I do like your works, just not a personal fan of fruit still life.

And, I also agree with your opinion about the Hallucinogenic night (blue-white-yellow), the abstract one...It was just an experiment, I tried to do something else, something different...I was in a that kind of mood so I just did it ...but, generally, I am much more satisfied with my realistic paintings. I will probably get back to this abstract work occasionally, but at this stage, I don´t think of it as my "main" style.

Thanks, Erika! I will definitely experiment with abstracts, but I will also stay "loyal" to realism, as much as I can.
