Portraits of Jane and Little Marie

My next two works will be of two girls I knew of in the pass. Portrait one is of a young girl about 18 years old. She was very overweight. Black hair which was always messed up. Had on old shappy dresses every time I seen her. She was mentaly retarted. She was homeless. She was laught at. She was alone and unwanted. She walk the streets of Atlanta for a few years. Late 1960,s to early 1970,s. Never did talk to her. Always felt sorry for her. She was knowed as the Peimont Pig. I heard she died of a drug overdose in 1973. Don,t really know. I never knew her name. I will name her Jane. Portrait two will be of a young girl who use to walk the streets of lower Atlanta. Mostly Steward Ave. She was about 20 years old. She was a hooker. She had long blond hair. She was a dwaf. About 4&1/2 feet tall. I would see her at times as I dove back and fourth to work. I guess I seen her at times over the course of about a year or so. It was 1984. I never did talk to her. But thier were times when our eyes would meet. She was found murdered in a motel room on Steward Ave. I never knew her name. I will name her Little Marie. For a painting surface I will use Sheet Steel. 38" x 46". I will prime the surface with metal primer. Will use oil paint.

The edges are filed and bent back at 40 degrees & welded. Work requires no frame or hanging
akets.

Have no drawing skills. But have a picture in my mind of the pass. Start by puting ramdon marks on surface.

John, make her arms chubbier. And ask Gloria to put on a dress and sit for you. Take a picture of her and it will be easier to figure out where to do some shading. Then focus most on her face to find the right expression. The background is shaping up nicely, the figure is most important though. Good luck.

The proces is totally intriguing. How much does something like this weigh? It's got to be heavy. I'm thinking that one would suspend the picture the old fashioned way, on rope from mounts on the big board that is on top of the wall studs, right?

John, one thing I noticed, Her left leg seems positioned too far back like
she's double-jointed. Bring that leg on in, a tad. E

Erika, I added a little bulk to her arms. Elis, I might have a proplem reloating her leg. Kinda think I might get into an issue with somthing else. DL, The piece is very light weight. Very thin. About the tickness of a dime. But very strong. It will hang on the edges that are bent on them.

Elis, I see what you mean about the leg. However, It does.nt look that way in person. It,s the way I have to take these pictures. Things sometimes look kinda funny. Photo
