Orange Castle - fairy tail

Postby Gosia » Sat Feb 21, 2015 4:41 am

I have a break at my work and new idea for drawing for my friends came to my mind. This is just a sketch and I plan to redraw it on the better paper :-)

Alright, lemme see...OK, you're getting the bodies and gesturing - good.
Watch her hand - she's missing a pinky finger. Very nice idea of castle in the background. E

Finally, I made a little bit of progress tonight with my Orange Castle - I will share better photo next time.
It is hard to find time for drawing in last weeks, but tonight I am staying at my friend's home - looking after their sleeping baby so they could go out to the concert (and next time my friend will do the same favor to me and my husband). It is nice time for drawing here away from all my duties :-)

Thank you, yes, if it works out, it will be for my firend and her husband to their new orange home. :-) My friend wants a lot to have a drawing from me - it will have sentimental value for her.

And this is better photo in the daylight.

Great depiction of eye to eye contact. The movement of the wind blowing the flags on the castle towers is a nice touch as well.

Thank you! A little bit of progress. It needs still much more work.

And it looks a little bit better in real....

Malgorzata, such a lovely view but I'm not seeing poppage where it should be.
You do have stronger color in the back but your man and woman should be
even bolder with stronger value differences. E

Thank you Elizabeth. At first I was wondering what does poppage mean - I found it in urban dictionery :-D
I don't think it will be a poppage but I will try to improve it and make man and woman in the front bolder. :-)

The color is so much better! but fix your man's back neck and jawline so he doesn't look like his
head is on backward. Also, 'Juste moi', but you man could use some derriere definition!
Lastly, add some darker blue around his legs so the lake will have more depth. E

Thank you so much for all the comments and suggestions!
I tried to make all these changes. It was hard with his derriere - I can see now that his silhouette should look a little bit different and it is hard to change it now, but I tried to improve it at least a little bit. What do you think?

I made the water darker around his legs. ;-) And I sent it already to my friend. She seems to be really happy with it. :-)))
Thank you so much for help!
