Thanks E. endless, I read this while I was in college say 7-8 years ago. At the time, I knew I liked what I read but couldn't firmly grasp it altogether. It's Henri Matisse, "Notes of a Painter". It's a solid read and probably explains best what I'm trying to accomplish. I like the idea of a nice comfortable armchair, but I can't seem to consciously or subconsciously have my art devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter. Whether i choose to be or not, I'm too much in the thick of it and to refuse it would be denial. My paintings would be fake.
