2,012 Young Artists project
To celebrate 2012 as a special international year in the UK, Charnwood Arts UK2K12, as part of its 'Welcome World 2012' initiative, is launching an ambitious project encompassing all forms of visual arts created by young people across the world.
We want thousands of young artists to create and submit square artworks, to be displayed on the exhibition and competition website, and turned into a book. Over the year, we will be offering a series of prizes for the best artworks. Our judges will choose 503 artworks every three months to go on the Web and be forwarded to the book design.
We are looking for photographers, illustrators, painters, graphic designers and makers… anyone producing visual arts aged 18 and under. All young people everywhere in the world are invited to submit one work for this year-long project.
Entry is free and all successful entrants will be informed that their work has been selected. Schools and art groups for children and young people are also invited to enter but please encourage individual work.
Every three months we will select a winning prize entry that will receive £100.
After the final closing date of 31st December 2012 a new panel of independent judges will select an overall winning entry from ALL of the work displayed on the website from the year long competition.
The winner will receive a £200 prize and a printed copy of the book when published.
The book will be produced through on-line publishers Blurb and may be visited on line through the Blurb website.
