Youtube Artwork

This is a forum where you can post your art work and ask what the world thinks. I am looking for general feedback, nothing too technical. A push in the right direction would be appreciated.

Youtube Artwork

I'm not entirely sure where to post this, so feel free to move this should it not be in the right place...

But anyways.

Hello, I am the sole person in Aurora's Studios (you may call me Auro if you like) and I like to create art, more specifically timelapse it with my camera and post it on youtube. I would really appreciate it if you would check out some of my artwork (only 5 at the moment, but I upload one once a week during the school year.) If you like what you see, I would appreciate it if you could leave it a like, a helpful comment, or even (if you're really daring) subscribe to me, and help my channel become known.

Before the worst of the internet goes on a rampage claiming how horrible it may be, how talentless I am, or not even form a single coherent argument in an attempt to upset me, let me explain why I do this. I (like any other artist) ascribe to be better than how I do know. So, to do this I want the expertise of the better side of the internet to critique my art, and give me helpful tips that will help me (and people having the same problem) become a better artist, and Vice Versa (people looking for tips may see it in my videos.) The reason for the timelapse is that sometimes its not the outcome that makes a painting "wrong" to the artist, but the procedure (at least the way I think of it.) So again I would really appreciate it if you could just even spend 5 minutes and leave a helpful comment. And no, I don't take "nice job!" as a helpful comment...

And thank you to those who check it out, I sincerely thank every one of you!

It's good to see that you are doing this to try to get better. I think your drawings could use a bit more fine tuning. I would try to work a bit cleaner with your lines and shading, rather than smear. Also, use a wider range of pencils.

all the best,
Joe

Thank you for your response, anything and everything is helpful. I'm still getting used to shading in better detail. Not to try and pull excuses, but I'm still a student, so I have limited finances, so the range of pencils I have goes from 2B to 2H, and the charcoal I have goes from HB to 3B. But again, thanks, I will try and use my darker pencils more!

The range you have is fine. Use more lights. That will accentuate your darks. One mistake that most students and new artists make is that they use too many darks. Darks are good, but use them only as needed, for contrast and depth, not just to shade for the sake of shading.
