THE VENETIANS - Oil Painting

Postby Guenn Eona Nimue » Tue Dec 14, 2010 9:31 pm

The Venetians, painted on a small wood panel, completed in 1968. For best result, right click on picture, then click on "Display Image with Full Quality". This shot is very true to the original, unlike the one I first posted (I am still learning to use the digital camera).

Thank you Karen! Until now, over 40 years since it was completed, I think it has been seen by all of 20 people.

Another winner. This is much different than your other work that I have seen so far. Yet it has a very familiar feel to it. Very nicely done.

all the best,
Joe

I love this piece!
It has stirred memories of my Tante(Aunt) Rettel reading German Fairy tales to me as a child in Germany! The feel is similar to what I remember from those wonderful tales, though I cannot remember the Authors(toooooo many years ago  ).
Great Work!

Do you mean you copied this painting? Was this your second piece in a series? It is unclear.

I'd like to see more contrast. Although I can tell whats going on, it is fuzzy. Simply adding another layer of one value step darker would really help this piece.

I am terribly sorry to hear of your health issues. I'm glad that you still paint even when you're having a tough time. That is very encouraging!
