New one for the Week

Joe,

All your paintings have such a presence to them. Lovely compostion, use of color and reflection, ethreal and glowing. Scale of person in the boat is right. If it were me in that boat, I would be laid back hat tiped over my face and sleeping while the boat glides across the water. Such a peaceful painting. Keep it up.

What I really love about your paintings is the texture of your paint and the application.

I don't get good texture because I'm too cheap and stingy with the paint.

I buy my paint by the tube online and each tube is expensive. I don't have a lot of money to spend on my art supplies, so I try to stretch it. Guess I shouldn't do that.

I know a lot of people do the same thing.

Karen your work looks great the way you do it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you dont have to use thick paint .....................there are tons of painters out there that are thin painters

i just love thick paint is all ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and yes it sure does cost a ton for paint ...........i walk in and they no i am going to drop 100$ a shot . it is nuts

We invest our own money to create a painting, then sell it and use the money for more supplies. It's a visious circle, but there is always some profit for the pocket.

Have a great day!

Your more than welcome Mike. Comments and critques is where we get our help. One word comments don't help much. Not for me anyway. I think to many people don't feel what they have to say about a piece matters or they don't know how to express it. I say just say what you see you like and those things that don't quite look right and why we think so. I do so enjoy your art, It is so peaceful. You must be a quiet man with a deep inner peace.
