Thanks John! Missed you and everyone here! Hope to be able to create something very soon, still trying to settle in.

While at work. I use the punch press to punch out some round pieces to make the foot secments. The small round pieces range from 5/8" to 3/8". I will use the larger rounds for the outside and the smaller rounds for the insides. I punched a 3/16" hole in the center of all the pieces. So I can put them together in joints. This is the hard and long way to do this. But what I learned when I went to see the dinosaur skeletons. Is that the whole skeletons are made up of joints. These joints have space between them. This gives the skeleton a boney old and griping look. And this is what I,m looking for in the work I,m am doing. It,s a lot of slow work. But it,s the only way to do it.

Next I need to weld them while they are lined up on a nail. This is a lot of guess work. But I that,s what art is about. I guess.

After a little grinding and shaping. I put the in the vice to clean with a wire
ush.

Most of this day was spent thinking and planning the way in which the work should procede. After I make rest of the feet parts. I,ll leave it to finish at a later time. When makeing a skeleton of anything. One has to think of it as a single form. It,s like that little song. One bone is conected to the other bone. If not rendered correctly. Then what you will end up with is a pile of bones. When I put the feet and legs on. The positions of every bone must be right. And I have already seen that some dinosaur skeletons are not correct. For instance, The arm bones that you will see on skeletons is simple stuck to the rib. There,s no way that could be right. The dinosaur must have had some sort of boney plate on the back of the rib gage to acomadate a shoulder conection. Just like in a human skeleton. So I will incorperate this in my work. And the foot will always be flat on the ground. These creatures weighed tons. They did not tip toe around.

not something you can imagine easily of a T Rex tiptoeing around the tundra spooking all its victims to death...lol

This is fasinating to watch as I have never done scupture only painting its great watching it transform..Please don't stop we all want to see more...

The 3 bones that make up the rest of the foot. Will weld extentions on each end. This is to weld on to the lower leg without a weld showing. Will do this by drilling a hole on the outside of the leg. And plug welding. I will try and use this procedture thoughout the work.

Foot bones are welded and cleaned. This completes the pieces that make up the foot. The pieces will be put together at the end of the work. And welded to the legs in a certain position. Will now move on to the hip bone.

The hip bone is as long as the upper leg bone. And about haft as wide as long. It has an opening for the upper leg bone. Also in front it supports the Pubis bone. And at the rear it supports the Llium bone.
