my public library exhibit

Hey everyone! I was recently encouraged to show my works at the li
ary in Fayetteville Georgia! Starting on the 1 st of april I will have six pieces on display at the li
ary and will be allowed a table for
ochures and contact info! I am very excited but a little nervous on deciding what to leave/show . . .I have framed some of what I feel are my best works . . .and as of yet havent made cards or
ochures..I hope this leads to some work as I am laid off . .I'l l paint the side of a barn and act like I know what time it is !LOL!i APPRECIATE ANY ADVISE ON THE MATTER-tHANKS AND luck me up!!Mikw

You may want to join some local art groups. They are a great way of getting information on art shows and getting your work into the galleries.

I know a lot of people here don't believe in art and craft shows, but that's a good way of selling your work. I do pretty good at the local shows around here. This past weekend I sold several pieces, and made some money.

Next weekend I'm off to another.

Check out the local paper and search the web for events. The vendor fees are usually low.

Next month is Warren Art League's gallery opening at the Warren, PA li
ary. I'll be displaying 4 paintings there. Glad I joined.

A few days into April now, how is it going? Hope it's working for you. My first ever exhibition had me very nervous as you are hanging yourself on a wall for others to make judgement calls on. You never loose this, you just get used to it.

Thanks Geoff Erika Johnny,Karen and Joe . . .I just went and picked up my art from there yesterday .I have received a commission from a Church organizer to provide the conceptual art for her future tee shirt projects and have already completed the first final draft -she and her kids love it!!! I gave away a lot of business cards-had a bunch of proffessional flyers that I had made up using Adobe Illustrator .

The lady that runs the li
ary is a very nice and generous lady- and I think that she allows one artisan after another to exhibit in that li
ary and u know what? I don't really suppose she gets a whole lot out of it so I have decided to send her some flowers.She will receive them while at work (is this tacky?)
I want to make sure she knows that we artists appreciate folk like her and to make her feel as recognized as she has made me feel . .. Mike

arian is 'tacky"...NO! I think it is very gracious of you, and i'm sure she will be thrilled!!!!!!
