Shipping fragile artwork

Postby Erika Takacs » Sun Oct 21, 2007 12:32 pm

Can anyone tell me how to ship safely my paper mache works mounted on glass?
One site I checked out suggests acid-free tissue paper (what's that? the gift-wrap type?) around the sculpture, then wrap in cotton fa
ic, wrap in a plastic bag, then bubble wrap, cardboard box, then another box filled with foam.
This sounds good to me, but I can't find anything on the tissue paper. Is that necessary?
Sorry my ignorance, I'm new to this.

Boy, papermache on glass is very fragile, yes? I'd have to then agree with the advice.

Yeah, it sounds ok to me too. How about acid-free tissue paper? Is that some special type of wrapping paper??? Does anybody know about this?
