Lost in the water

Postby Gosia » Thu May 15, 2014 9:30 pm

This is my new picture that I am working on, close to being finished. I am drawing first time with pastel chalk pencils and it is much better than to draw with crayons. How it could be improved? I would appreciate all your comments. :-)

I think your best bet is to look at peoples faces, noses and study the construct. Their nostrils look stuck on like a beauty mark. Also the lines between shoulders and chest should be somewhat curved at the juncture and with her, there should be some shading underneath her arm. Good Luck! E

These are a good start...
Doing the human form is difficult... dont be afraid to develop out the shadows and highlights...in not just your subject but also their surroundings... it adds depth and life to the work.. this is a great start.. keep at it...
May your world be painted in the Brightest of colors!

I started to work on it more and improve it, but I think finally it got worse. I liked the most "intermediate version". :-)
Because of erasing it and making many changes paper started to be rugged... :-(
Maybe next time it will go better! :-)

I see that shading - good job! Now, add a little to make blouse folds - just a couple here and there, take it easy.
That way you can add more if you don't like what you have.

Super! Now just add a couple of white streaks in the very middle
of your folds (I'm talkin' white-white) and you're good to go! E

I made it whiter and changed a little bit background... My friend wants to hang this drawing in her bedroom, so it will be also a present :-)
