Hi

Well this is my first Landscape in oils, I have never done one before Barb/Krista/Linda thank you for the inspiration. i would never have attempted this if it wasn't for you and everyone on this site.

Amazing what you do when you are inspired.

They look very good Deanne!!!
To get even more depth to them, add a bit darker values as if to "edge" the foliage.
Bravo! And good for you for having some "peace" for painting! :D

WOOHOO!!!! Yes Deanne! :D :D
I first want to applaud you for doing such a great job! AND for doing such a great job on your first attempt! (insert applauding emoticons here:) )
It is lovely in it's color use and it has a surreal feel to it!
You did a great job on the foliage, as it shows depth and lots of light!

Now...may I offer a bit of suggestion for your next(and YES there certainly should be a next landscape as you are obviously well on your way to creating a unique style in this subject)?
I would like to see a bit more shadow on the road, as it is sided on both sides by dense foliage and those beautiful flowers...a bit of darkening shadow(from trees on right) falling across the road would give it more interest and dimension. Make the shadows darker at bases of trees and gradually (slightly) lighten them as they extend onto path. You also might think about doing a bit darker area to suggest ruts(like from tires or wearing as a path would show), again it would just add a bit to the interest for the path.
Now these are only my suggestions, and certainly may not be in line with what you are and were trying for in this painting, so discard if they aren't helpful to you OK?
Overall, I think you did an outstanding job and am so looking forward to seeing more landscapes from you Now! (More applauding emoticons inserted here :) )

Thank you all for your great encouragement and fantastic comments, I must say I am really pleased with the finished painting.

Barb - I lightened the image so you are not seeing the dark side (right) its just that i wanted you all to see the detail. On the original painting you can barely see the tree trunks on the right and you can't see the blue ting to the sky/light, and the leaves on the right are really dark except for the gaps in the leaves where the leaves are lighter.

Thank you all again

Deanne
