Frame In steel wire. And aluminium foil as filler. Then I tejp the whole thing so that the foil stays in place and don't crumble.

Then I wrap the tape with thin steel wire so the tjep stays in place. x-D And that also makes the clay stick better.

Cover it up with a thin layer of Super Sculpey. I used firm on this one, wanna see if that makes it so it keeps the forms a little better.

Now it will rest until tomorrow so the clay hardens a bit. It get a bit soft after working whit it a while.
Mixing clay.

Could not figure out how to make a fire boll. So I went whit a tailswipe pose. Turned the head and neck a bit.

Head detail.

Time consuming scales. x-D

More scales!

scales for days!

First time I checked in all I saw were the first three pictures. Thanks for continuing to share your process. Looking forward to seeing this one finished. But, in all honesty I do wonder what kind of free thought, creative, other dimension, roaming space without control, ignorant refusal of conventionality world does your mind live in and what planet did you fall to earth from?

thx guys! <3 I appreciate it.

Need to start working on this again before it gets dusty! =D
But I seem to be a bit in a slump.

I have baked the head and tummy. So it's a little easier to handle.

You know Kristian, the best thing I like about your sculptures is that they appear anatomically correct. I know that is not possible because they only exist in your mind and the sculpted forms you create. But they just look like they could actually walk and talk or breath fire. Very nice work. You will pull out of your slump. Take your drawing pad, go to the mall, park or public area and draw some creatures based on some of the folks you see there or something like that. Might be a refreshing experience for you.

The wings realy gave me a headache. But I finaly got around to do them.

Not done tho, but it's a start!!!! ;-D

Edit:
Thank you Carl. That is the thing I like the most whit sculpting. To realy think about the creature I'm making.
How/what would it eat, move, sound? Where would it live? I like to think that is why they appear anatomically correct..? =)
