WHAT PAINTING GAME

Postby St.Luke » Wed Apr 15, 2015 2:09 am

Just for fun, a portion from a famous painting will be displayed. The objective is to identify the painting it came from.
Post the title of the painting, and name of the artist. (one entry per post).
When the correct answer is given, both the portion and complete image of the painting will be posted.
For example:

Name the painting and artist of this portion:

Once the portion is identified, another "What Painting" quest will be posted.
Have fun.

You got to make this tougher. I'll let someone else get this one. We'll just say it's not the type of art we are use to seeing from this artist.

Thank you eddieblz, you are a very considerate person.
Yes, I might have to make it tougher.

...It seems I may have to add an extra clue to what eddieblz has already provided:
The artist once said: "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child".

Okay eddieblz, you did well to hold back your answers so others may find. Thank you.

Congratulations eddieblz, and ehoeveler it is "Science and Charity" by Pablo Picasso.

Most people think Pablo can't paint in a traditional style. But after this painting, done at the age of 15-16 years, he had nothing to prove.

Name the print-painting, and artist, of this portion:

Okay ehoeveler, I've edited the answer-post to include your part in solving the quest.
Sorry I did not recognize the claim earlier. I thought your earlier post was a question - not an answer. That is why I followed your post asking for further clarification.
I can see, that being a judge is neither simple or easy.
