Can you help with a tip on signing an acrylic painting?

Can you help with a tip on signing an acrylic painting with something other than a paint
ush?

Hello, now that my painting is done I would like to use some type of a paint pen or marker to sign my work. I am working in acrylics on canvas and will seal the painting with a sealer. So is there an item I can use instead of a paint
ush? If so does it go on top of the sealer or underneath? I also would like to write something on the back of the canvas; title year any suggestions on where is a good place to write info and since it is going on the back of the canvas directly what type of marker or paint pen can I use there? If any one knows the answer to what is compatible and durable please feel free to let me know what product is the best. thanks DeVonna

I bought some stamps from a craft shop with my initials on them and paint them with a similar colour I have used on the painting and then press. I have also signed with a fine tip artist pen after the paint is dry (I use oils) but the problem with the pen is that you have to pick a light area in the pic which can sometimes distract the eye

Yeah. That stamp idea is good. I work in oil. I have the hardest time with my signature. I cut it short to Sha.

I would buy some MICRON pens at hobby lobby or Michaels . . .they come in different colors and are acid free, permanant stylized pens (they are Beige in color). If you want a viable liquid-to
ush on ,Buy some of the windsor-newton colored india inks in those little jars.they are high quality inks and would have no problem going over/mixing with all media!! hope helped

Sign your art in the same medium in which you create it.which are generally signed in pencil). For example, sign a watercolor in watercolor, an acrylic in acrylic, and an oil painting in oil paint. When you sign in a different medium, you increase the chances of someone will eventually question whether or not the art was actually done by you.

An artist's uses his signature to differentiate paintings from other artists. And, for the artist, signing a painting usually means their work is complete. Well, I use a variety of long, bristle flats and keep a small sable handy for signing a painting or adding a select bit of detail.

I also find signing my name on my oil paintings to be one of the most difficult things to do. Here is what I do: I use a variety of long, bristle flats and keep a small sable handy for signing a painting or adding a select bit of detail

To John; I know, Right? I so very much Don't want to
have my signature detract from the overall. I end up spending
way too much time and paint trying to get it right.
I think what I'll do is add a bit more scenery at the bottom and
almost as an afterthought, with a small, very pointed brush,
paint in my initials. Either that or buy an acrylic fine-point
marker for signatures. E

Well, I agreed that you have to do you signature with the same medium you use to create you art, however it is always fun to experiment.
