Critique, Figure art

Postby FlamCran » Mon Jun 18, 2012 9:42 pm

Thanks for viewing. This is my first attempt as an amateur figure artist. Please critique to your liking. Based of realistic beauty, not anorexic. The models reviewed were a sturdy body type, with large breasts and fair weight. Please tell me what I did well, and what I screwed up. Sorry I have to send you through a link, but i'm still figuring this site out.

Figure drawing takes lots of practice and will definitely not be a success on your first attempt. Work on using lighter, cleaner lines. Then add darker shades gradually to add depth. First thing is first. Keep doing more drawings. Read books on figure drawing techniques. They will help. Even looking at tutorials will help. And of course, look at the masters. No one did figures like they did. You will get a better understanding of proportions and anatomy and what the body is actually doing.

all the best,
Joe
