I like both of these drawings; the character in the face really shows through here. And hands and faces being some of the most difficult things to draw, kudos for getting both in the portrait.
I think, though, that you could probably push the contrast a little more in the jacket, maybe darken the shadows a little more around the collar and lapels, to give it the same level of dimension that you have in the face.
