Morning Mist

This is 24x30" oil on canvas. I had one hell of a time painting the mist rising from the water. Had to do it over a couple of times before it looked right to me. What do ya think?

What you've done so far looks wonderful, Brian. I'm wondering about the trees in the foreground...would it make the illusion more convincing if you added some mist there too? They seem to be a certain distance from the shore.
Hope you'll paint spring too. :)

Brian, love the way you got the light to play in the mist between the trees in the backgound and the middle ground. I really love your loose style.

Great job, but I've come to expect that from you!

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Erika, Krysta and Rich. I'm glad it turned out. There was a period of time that I thought it would never come together. Thanks again.

Brian,
As with all of your work, I am very impressed! I love your use of color and yes...I think you did a wonderful job on the mist. I echo K and others viewpoint, you are a master in your style, and I urge you to find a way to allow the world to see your work. Have you checked into contacting maybe a local gallery to see if they would approve an exhibition? I don't know much of such things, but I do know that your work needs to be recognized.

Thank you Barb for the nice comments. I have started submitting work to galleries. I submitted my work to a New York gallery and was accepted. They're a promotional gallery so the yearly fee is quite high but they do a lot for the money so I'm thinking it might be money well spent. Also I started to enter a lot of the magazine competitions. We'll see where that goes. Thanks again.
