I love this! The blue is very vi
ant and the subject matter is very demanding. Is there really such a catastrophe of a pier in this world or is this mostly from your imagination? Either way, fantastic job!

Welcome

Welcome to the forum! I really like your sky and the water.

I would have liked a little more detail and shadowing of the logs in the pier, but that's based on my style.

Great job on the pebbles on the beach as well.

The painting reminds me of some of the old piers that are no longer used in the Coos Bay and central Oregon coast area.

I look forward to seeing more of your work here! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your input,
... FinalProdigy: This Pier is actually the Old Reliable Fishhouse Pier in Provincetown, MA. At this time there is almost nothing left. The wooden poles on top of the pier are old (over 50 years) Weir poles for netting fish, and in the far distance is the Race Point Lighthouse, the furthest thing on the tip of Cape Cod. Thanks for your response. :D

... RRSum... I agree, I should have added more dark shadows to the pier pilings. Thanks. :D

Hi JA
I am definitely diggen this work. You have painted a great sky and the water is also nicely done. I agree with Rrsum with reference to the wharf. Considering how much of the actual painting involves this structure, what a great opportunity to create some depth. The problem is I see the same color and detail through out. If the wharf was parallel it would be OK but no where near as interesting as what you have here.
I would use some stronger colors and sharper detail in the foreground and softer subtle tones for the back.
Of course this comment is based on how I see things and how I paint and only my opinion.
But, I really like what you art.

hi, Bergina.. Thanks for your input, and yes, I agree with you. Maybe I'll revisit the foreground of the pier in this one!
