A week's work

Postby Erika Takacs » Wed Jan 16, 2008 12:46 pm

"Manó" (pronounce Mah-noh) is the Hungarian word for goblin. They are somewhat different from their English counterparts. They’re present in Hungarian fairy tales and folklore, much adored by children as they are mischievious but very lovable, friendly creatures. So much so, a lot of parents love to nickname their little ones "Manó"!

I used a photo of my son for inspiration, so this piece is very personal to me. It's paper mache, about 5-6 inches high. I wanted to go for an aged stone look. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

I think it's amazing what you do with paper mache! What an adorable little figure, looks cute for a garden set up, so I like how you have him sitting with plants around him.
Nice work, and now I have a new name for my little Evan .... heeheehee

Thanks, Joe! Coming from you, it's always a treat. Now I need to work on making them larger.
