more pencil drawings,

This is a forum where you can post your art work and ask what the world thinks. I am looking for general feedback, nothing too technical. A push in the right direction would be appreciated.

I suppose I would call it more of an illustration, like for some story. I imagine that you'd benefit from one of those anatomy books, like drawing the human form, just to get a solid foundation. I'm still struggling with the porportions of the facial structure and have found books and guidance very valuable. I like how you have done the hair on both drawings. Keep up the good work.

Dear Karen, I'll go out on a limb and say that the top
one looks lik a a fashion drawing, which is totally cool.
Bottom one definitely looks like a portrait - I like 'em both.
Nice hair on both ladies, interesting facial shading
on the portriat.

Hi Karen

Classification - sketch illustration

As for critique - it really depends on where you want to hone your skills.
Are you looking to stay in the more Cartoonist style, then I would just suggest.. keep practicing. Clean up your edges, and pay attention to what your character is trying to say with the expression and pose.

If you are going for Realism, then I would suggest - practice with actual photos... for Both, its important to know where the proportions are, event though for cartooning and/or caricatures the sizes of the features may be skewed - the relationship from one feature to the others are in sync and balanced. There are some really great books out there for artists that has photos of models faces, heads and expressions that are great to practice from... I will try to look it up and give you the title... but in the meantime.. I just started a scrapbook.. and clipped photos of people in magazines or newspapers.. or I took pictures of people that I could use to practice later...

I hope that helps.. I am not sure if that was what you are looking for or not.. but I hope so.
May your world be painted in the
Brightest of colors!
