I'm new here as of yesterday, Jan. 3, but this seems to be a very good place for artists to show their work and to communicate with others of like mind. I'm a HS. art teacher in Colorado Springs. I teach web design as well. I'm married to Carol who is also an artist. We are grandparents, but also have a 10-year old very precocious girl named Destiny at home with us.
I have gone back and forth with "what to paint" at times. At the moment, I am doing portraits and have begun with myself since I'm so readily available.
Sometimes what to paint can really be a dilemma for the artist but there is always something to paint or to create. I've done still lifes, architectural pieces, southwest, etc. Both my wife and I get pretty busy with our lives, as do all of us. Doing artwork should be at the top of list though, but somehow it isn't.
