Where to begin.. I am 52 years young. Married and have two grown boys and 8 grandchildren. A cat and a lab puppy who at the moment is biting at my feet...
Art came to me only a few short years ago. I have never had any talent in that area. Both my boys did and I always wondered where they came by it.
After a long illness some friends gave me a computer to help me.I started to draw in paint and then PSP. It was amazing what was comming out of me... I was hooked! I found a class on line and a wonderfull man and his group began to help me. I am now trying other mediums. Acrylic, oil and sketching. I still have a great deal to learn and I do struggle with it everyday. Somedays I wonder if I have any talent at all.

I found out a year ago that my Dad who is not deceased was an artist as a boy...But gave it up when he had to quite school and work. So I guess it is never too late to have a new dream or a new direction in life.
Well, that is short and sweet. Looking forward to learning more from you folks.

Lisa Anne, welcome. Judging by the one image you uploaded so far, you have a great deal of talent. It's not an easy direction you have taken, it's full of ups and downs, but in the end it's worthed. Keep doing it and show us more! ERika

Hi there LisaAnn and welcome!

It is true, there is never 2 late. :) But what is more important is that you enjoy what you are doing and that it fullfills you.

P.S. Art has captured my heart..I look at the world around me now in so many diffrent ways. I was stopped to get gas the other day and while pupping the gas .I noticed how the rain puddles on the gound had captured the lights above the pumps, then the truck was reflected so many diffrent reflections...I got dizzy just looking at it. Funny how I had never really seen the world around me... I thank God for my new eye sight.
:P

Yes, exactly! I actualy fell pity for those who lacks the artists sight because they are mising so much. That's why I always tried to 'teach' or better help my little ones to see like that, and or I was succesful or it came naturaly, when we go out they spot and observe and sometimes they say that it would be great to draw it.
It is true, we see so much more... or better: we realize and apreciate what we see, they see but don't realy realize it.
