Re: How do you vote?

Cute_1234 wrote:I am new at this so who can actually vote when you are in phase 1? I have family members and friends that want to vote but can they? or when can they vote?

There is currently no public voting. The voting is juried. I am considering bringing back the popular vote and will keep everyone updated.

Re: can someone tell me why I'm not getting feedback

No worries Laura. Some times it is slow around here, especially in the Summer months. You will get feedback. But it would not hurt if you replied to other topics and gave some feedback to other artists. They are more likely to reply to yours if you reply to them.

all the best,
Joe

Re: not ac cepting my files for contest

Open your images using irfanview. Then resize them to about 800px and save. That will reduce your filesize.

Re: Oil on Canvas

I like this piece John. The dark outline on the trees really works well.

Re: The trouble with clay...

This is a tip I learned from an article. Assuming the clay is in its plastic bag, add about 1/4 cup water, squeeze out excess air from the bag, and tie off the top. Put the clay/bag in a bucket and fill the bucket with water until the water level is just below the top of the bag. Let stand overnight...

Re: The trouble with clay...

That might be the problem. Because what you experienced should not happen with good clay, especially if you added moisture. I would always look into good products from reputable stores. Look online for user reviews about any product you buy.
