Re: Sketch to Color

First off I love this! Technically I think it's outstanding. I like art that makes me wonder what is doing on and I could come up with a lot of different stories about what is happening in this picture and all from one image.

Re: Just drew this for fun

I love the style! It's very very unique. This is just the way I see it but it's a mixture between a bit of realism and comic work. Did I mention I really love the style? I like what you've achieved and would love to see a few more pics. rendered in this fashion. Great work

Painting.

I have been looking at a lot of paintings here on the site and I if I wore a hat it would be off to you painters. I myself don't have an interest in painting (I can barely draw) but the paintings people post here are phenomenal. I don't understand how you folks pull some of this stuff off.. Great jo...

Re: Frankenstein

I agree about the pen strokes... This was the first big piece I've done. I think I mentioned it's 14X17.. It took a lot of microns and 46 hours to complete. Next time I will keep in mind the strokes. I incorporated the Vitruvian man due to Leonardo and Dr. Frankenstein doing the same things. Abducti...

Re: Advice on Shading

P.S. the more you push the darks the further it will "pop" the whites out and make the rose come off the page.

Re: Advice on Shading

If I understand "feathering" it out correctly you can use tissue of some sort, a soft cloth or blending stump... Glad you're pleased with the suggestion..

Hi Everybody.....

Hello all... I am new to the site and have enjoyed looking around seeing different peoples work. I have admired art all my life and began drawing a little over a year ago. My all time favorite artist is Francis Bacon. Not only his art but his philosophy about life interest me a great deal. I have re...

Re: Advice on Shading

Try shading in the background instead of the rose. That will give the rose the illusion of being colorless.

Re: Is something wrong with art?

Under normal circumstances I communicate politely. I just thought this guys ego needed to be knocked back a couple notches. Your warning is taken and I will "play nice" from now on..

Re: Is something wrong with art?

I just figured someone with an ego that big wouldn't need help of any sort. Just asking him why if he can figure things out before everyone else is he asking for help.. Just asking a question...

Re: Is something wrong with art?

Not to be mean but you stated you're "moderately more creative than the average person" I think your art is garbage to be honest. Theres no depth, its just lines on paper. The form is trash and anyone with a pencil can put a single drawing in the middle of a page. You have no sense of compo...
