I would say that Facebook is a great platform to promote or advertise your work. Other than that you can always approach online galleries to list your paintings for sale.

Drawing a caricature from photo is a great fun, however sometimes I struggle to fulfill the requirements in my head. In my opinion, caricatures from photos make a cool gifts that are unique and personalized gift idea.

Learning to oil paint takes patience and the time to develop your skills, but the learning process can be part of the joy landscape painting brings. Outdoor oil painting and outdoor observation using oil sketches is central to my landscape painting.

Oil pastels are pastel pencils with wax and inert oil as added ingredients. To create texture, I used a butter knife to scrape through layers of oil pastel to reveal layers.

I also find signing my name on my oil paintings to be one of the most difficult things to do. Here is what I do: I use a variety of long, bristle flats and keep a small sable handy for signing a painting or adding a select bit of detail

The best way to approach a gallery to display some of your work is to approach them online. Believe me, there are several art galleries which accepts artists works to be displayed on their online art galleries. Just send them your best piece of work.

The reason most people varnish oil paintings is to 'lift' the color. The drying time also influences other aspects of painting.
