  • Interests: Swimming, Tennis , Reading, Yoga and Art
  • About Me: With a combination of Accountancy as my profession and a self-taught artist, I was fascinated to art since my childhood as I was always glued to the easel so I am one of those artists who developed my passion by self discovery. I grew up Tanzania and seeing the world and travelling is my inspiration to art.
With a lot of hard work and research on my own, I then began taken short art courses, attending exhibitions etc in all my free time.
My artworks reflect a lot about my simple personality, my cheerfulness, positive outlook happy persona and my love to see new places, culture and people. This trait has thus not restricted me to one type of art since I love diversity as reflected in my artworks.
My major breathroughs in art include:
2011: An exhibition held for solidarity where the theme was to raise our voices for peace where I scooped the runners up award.
2011: Selected to participate in the East African Art Biennale 2011 as one of out of twenty of who were selected from all over Africa and a few international.
2013: Winner for submitting an art in the local community on Kerbala an islamic historical war.

    Aims and goals:
My style varies between traditional and non-traditional styles and I have tried my hand at landscapes, portraits, still life, abstracts and semi abstracts, mixed media, collage and sketches. I love trying challenging styles and emulating challenging art. The challenges help me climb up the ladder to perfect my skills, though I am a firm believer that a piece of art is never perfect because to err is art as well as the climb up the ladder is an endless life long learning.
I love using pencils, water, oil and acrylic colours as well as experimenting with a combination of media when working on mixed media paintings.

Good afternoon Shelina. Just posted the beginning of Maggie Q in the 'In Process gallery' if you are interested. When the final painting is done, in my mind it no longer belongs in the 'In Process Gallery'. Kind of a statement about moving on to the next project. Sending this to you for food for thought about how some artists do things.

Good morning Shelina. Looks like I got your link back. Took a while, but looks like Joe fixed it. Very nice. Going to look at some of your stuff now. Sure beats reading the morning news.

Whoa Carl thanksss!!!! Well obviously it cant be revenge with so many tips and advises that you came up:)
I have read all of it and am assimilating the information and imagining how it would look. Certainly makes sense.
I didn't question much of my painting since my Latvian teacher and I did this together by watching the ocean which was the fun part:)
Thanks so very much for your candid comments and I will work on them further, and if in doubt I will get back to you:)

Good morning Shelina. I do not like the Dhows in the rough Indian Ocean. It is not because of anything you have said about any of my paintings. This is not a revenge thing. I am way to old for that. I have studied the painting. It is adequate for an uptown decorator look at what I have in my apartment type of painting. You might even be able to sell it. But, it could be magnificent. Look at the ocean and the sky intersection. First, lighten the bottom of the sky with a little more very pale white to the ocean horizon level. Second, take a very long straight edge and make the right side of the painting exactly equal to the left side of the painting from the top to make it a perfectly level horizon. Third, fill in the ocean with as dark a blue black as you can and blend down into the ocean. Fourth, place a single thickness varied very thin blue black line from the top of the pink/orange sail to the very back of the boat. Fourth, do the same thing to the mast of the white sail. Fifth, place some of the dark color rushing in front of the white sail boat into the center bottom green grey swell between the lighter blue swells on the right side, just a touch next to the right blue swell. If you do this you will create an eye movement from the viewer that entraps the viewer into the painting with a circular eye motion between faded colors and line contrast. Experiment with photoshop before you touch the painting and have fun.

Good evening Shelina. I have enjoyed this site and the artwork submitted. But, I am going to be very busy for the next six months or so. I may return from time to time to take a look. I have two agents interested in representing me and three art shows to prepare for. Go figure, I just wanted to share my art and backed into it again. While I am reluctant to re-engage in business I figure, what the heck, I moved to New Mexico just for the adventure of it. Maybe it is time to grab the new adventure. Anyway, I wish you good health and success.
