Nadine, my Dear! New York is overrated but still interesting to see.
You'll get there when the time is right, I know. Still, you have a great opportunity to glean painting tips from family members. Listen, if the economic situation is bad over there you can now sneak into the US (as Long as BO is Pres.) - fill up your knapsack and start truckin', girl! E ![]()

Nadine! So nice to hear from you. No, it usually never is weighty for me to listen to other's thoughts, especially about art. I'm not sure what you were trying to achieve (and didn't care 'cause they looked great!) with your two handsome boys - did you feel that you met your objective with them?

Hi Nadine - You are being very open about yourself
and that approach will generally garner more support. I've come to realize that ego and pride are entertwined and I do remember one art teacher saying that artists should leave their ego's in the refrigerator, at least while creating... sort of gets in the way. However there's nothing wrong with having good self-esteem so I'll bolster you up a bit; #1) You are pretty. #2) You are young with your life ahead of you. #3) you speak 3 languages! and #4) you have artistic talent. I will counsel you to try to rise above those who would work to break your self-esteem. They are suffering themselves and are in a hell of their own design. Find the people who support you emotionally and build a support system - very important. Alright, lemme take a look at your 'Cake'! Keep me posted. E ![]()

Hi, Nadine! I was wondering where you went to!
I'm very glad that you're staying in the game - I saw one of your latest and (ADD-me) forgot to comment. I will do so! E ![]()

Hi, Nadine; Sorry to get back so late.
Are you saying that you feel alienated from your parents? Feel like a stranger in a strange land (family setting)? I certainly felt like that with my own Mom and Dad - they were too busy making money and climbing that social ladder. My sibs and I were raised like weeds, pretty much left to our own devices unless there was the potentiality of one of the kids disgracing the family in some way. Then, the glaring spotlight was upon us and it was real uncomfy. My two sisters and brother were smart enough to 'take the good things and leave the bad' but I was always trying to get my folks to change. Of course, they never did. As I got older I began in different ways to understand why they were like that, how their parents raised them, etc. It was hard and took a long time but eventually I got there. Are you still going to NYC? Whatever you do, unless your folks are really awful, don't jeopardize your school funding - know what I mean? I know when I was your age, everything looked dark and doomed but keep in mind that your teens and late teens are probably the worst, most angst-ridden time of your life. I think the worst thing for me was that I had No control over anything - I didn't know what I wanted and I sure didn't know how to get what I wanted. Hope this helps in some small way and please keep me in the loop, OK? 'Best, E |
