  • About Me: Art has been at the core of my life for as long as I can remember. I spent countless hours as a child applying pencil, crayon, and paint to every scrap of paper I could find; and this natural tendency was nurtured by my grandmother, who was a high school art teacher and my kindred spirit. During my formative years she encouraged me to experiment with different techniques and mediums, making every project seem fresh and exciting and magical. Later, as an adult, I tapped into the inspiration my grandmother imparted to me in teaching my own children art, and eventually teaching others as well. Now, with my children growing up and leaving home, I am pursuing a full-time career as a professional artist and art instructor. Hi, Charlene; I have to go to Miami in a week but after that
I'd like to at least call around and maybe submit your work
to some Washington galleries if not the WH. I will try the WH
of course because your work is that good. I just need to do
some exploring. E

Thanks,I guess I needed someone to point that out. Or had used a piece of glass to show me how the reflection would be. I cannot believe that nobody who has seen this and spcified that the reflections were completely wrong. I have been looking at this painting all these years and did not notice the mistake but then I know that can happen with something I have painted. I have usually caught the mistake after observing it a while.

Hi charlene
I would greatly appreciate your input on my painting of "Beauty in Space".
Don't hold back in whatever you think, I had E critiqe the painting, I am hoping that another opinion can get through to me what is it about this painting that is off.

I have sold many a portraits but only on commission by the subject. I have sold paintings through the gallery I belong to, but again I find the subject matter or the colors used makes a lot of difference and requirement of the customer. I did sell 2 paintings recently of the complete person. One was a woman on a hillside enjoying the morning breeze and another a young girl on a beach walking through the beach water. I am just mentioning this just in case you haven't considered these things or havn't thought of the items I mentioned. I think your paintings are extremely well done with the shading and the use of light direction and the contrast you use is so well done.
