Founded by Maria Terea Leal, COOPA-ROCA, Rocinha Seamstress and Craftwork Co-operative Ltd was established in 1981 and provides conditions for its members, female residents of Rocinha, to work from home and thereby contribute to their family budget, without having to neglect their childcare and domestic duties. The cooperative has approximately 150 members and important partners in the fashion and decorative design market.
The Cristal de Luz installation reflects the fashion, dexterity and skilled craftsmanship for which the cooperative is celebrated.
This is being displayed at Salisbury Arts Centre and admission is Free to all.
