Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival 2012

Permanent Linkby SalisburyFestival on Tue May 01, 2012 10:01 am

Welcome to your Festival which fills the venues from theatres to hillforts, reaches audiences for world-class artists as well as engaging those who do not traditionally experience arts festivals, stimulates artists to create new pasterpieces and nutures emerging talent.
The Festival blazed into life in July 1973. Since then, over a million people have enjoyed outstanding performances of theatre, dance, film and every kind of music, plus literary events and the visual arts. From mid-May to early June each year, the beautiful historic city of Salisbury is transformed as people flock to the Festival, enjoying both ticketed events and free performances.
Many of this year's events are inspired by one of three themes: Brazil's rich cultural heritage and vibrant creative energy make it one of the most dynmaic countries in our time; in a year when the Plympics come to the UK, Fire is especially resonant; and so is Celebration, as 2012 marks the 40th Festival and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
We thank each and every Festival partner, sponsor, supporter, venue and Friend for enabling the creation of this international programme which offers exciting experiences for everyone.
The Festival we have made is here because of you and what we have made is all for you. Enjoy your Festival.
