Dear Friends,


I would like to mention, that I am an octogenarian and still have many fruitful hobbies e.g. writing poems in Hindi & English, Art, Paintings, stories, Thoughts on various objects concerned with social, national, political & other issues related to life, selected sports, reading and writing classical books and in many other things, I like friendship with people with whom i would feel free to chat and discuss about common interest.

CHARACTERS AND FRONTIERS: THE BRAZILIAN SCENOGRAPHIC TERRITORY

Created in 1975 and connected with the Brazilian Ministry of Culture, Funarte (National Arts Foundation) officially represents Brazilian culture in the country and abroad. Its objective is to stimulate the practice, developement and spreading of cultural actvities in the scenic, visual and muscial arts.
The Prague Quadrennial (PQ) aims to explore and present contemporary scenography - including stage, costume, lighting, sound, and other elements of performance design. The Brazilian national Exhibition PQ'11 examines movements in Brazilian scenography, considering scenography as a thinking and provocative art, at the forefront of culture and representing sensry shelters of characters and ideas. The installation shows the interaction of theatrical scengraphy, visual arts and popular culture, revealing Brazilian culture, tradition and modern, urban and everyday.

This exhibition is on from 25 May until 23 June in the Main Gallery...

ART IN THE SHADOW OF CRANBORNE HOUSE

Circles and Tangents brings together a unique collection of paintings and sculptures make by artists who, from the 1920s to the present, have found in Cranborne Chase a landscape of inspiration, seclusion and 'bare-boned' beauty.
Ites in the exhibition have been drawn from a variety of sources, many from private collections, and a range from early neo-romantic works to contemporary pieces made specifically for this exhibition.
Artists include the Nicholson family (William, Ben, Winifred, E.Q. and Tim), John Craxton, Lucian Freud, Stanley Spencer, Augustus John, Henry Lamb, Frances Hodgkins, Katharine Church (Kitty West), Peter Thursby and Elizabeth Frink. Contemporary artists include Ursula Leach, Brian Rice, John Hitchens, Jay Battle, Tim Harrisson and Ian Middleton. Accompanying book by exhibition curator Vivienna Light avaliable at the Museum.
