Artist websites and blogs ?? by Carmelo on Tue Dec 13, 2011 6:19 pm
Greetings, I am back at ASC from a while before, having taken time to raise my son, but I am back and wishing to learn more about artist websites and blogs. Not being too computer savvy, I am late to the ever expansive online world of awesome visuals and the ability to communicate with other artists and folks interested in art and poetry. I saw a wonderful website here on ASC and am curious as to what I can do to create such a site to feature my art and commentary along with some poetry and perhaps a video. When last here I did interact with some members and enjoyed the ability to do so. So what must I do to start the conversations again?

Fine Art Painters by freda65 on Sat Aug 04, 2012 3:55 pm
Hello I am Freda, and I am a Fine Artist Painter.
I am wanting painters to come and blog along the lines of painting.
I have been into painting since 2009, also I am an asthmatic so I have to watch what paints I use, it's acrylic paints for me because of my health. While I am painting I am at ease, and find painting makes me less stressed. Is there any other painters that feel this way while painting? :)

The Biker and The Granny (Excerpt) Work in progress by eddieblz on Mon Dec 10, 2012 10:55 pm
2 am comes too... early. With a rocking motion he swings his feet toward his left and over the side of the bed. The momentum pulling him up into a sitting position, his feet hanging loosely over the side. Reaching over he taps the button on top of the alarm, quieting it's screeching sound. ( He's never been one to hit the snooze, it's just better to get up all at once and get it over with... at least thats what he's always figured.) Now he rotates his feet at his ankles as they hang their and twists his shoulders back and forth loosening himself to be ready to take the weight of his body when he stands. "Man it sucks getting older. I'm just not impressed at all", he mumbles to himself. Then off the bed he slides on to his feet straitening himself into a standing position then gingerly walks around his bed to the bathroom, not wanting to stub his toe on something in the dark. Those early morning toe stubbing's are the worst.
As he enters his bathroom closing his eyes he reaches...

I haven't been here for awhile. I knew writing every day or even week was going to be tough for me. I've been working on a watercolor of red and white poppies. It is going well. I thought I was more of an abstract/impressionistic painter, but I seem to like painting realism with lots of depth and color. This suprises me, because usually I think, "Well if you want to make it look just like it is then take a photo." I admire the skill of painters who can actually make it look like a photo, I just didn't think I would go in that direction. Recently I've applied to teach a 5th grade class on the Apache Reservation. It means a big move, getting rid of a lot of extra stuff, and rebalancing myself in new surroundings. I feel excited and wary. I think it would be fun/interesting/exciting to paint the indian children. They have beautiful skin and eyes. Anyway, that is all I have for now. I wil try to get back to this sooner next time.
